Description
In the year 2010, a great cataclysm struck the city of Averis. I spiritual shockwave that nearly destroyed every thing and everyone. Leaving the city and surrounding area for miles trapped in a dimensional bubble with no way to call for help or escape. Shortly after this catastrophe people began to notice that some of the children being born were growing up with special abilities and some even turning into ravenous monsters.
Those born with powers were referred to as Vessels. It was learned that these Vessels' powers stemmed from a twin soul trapped in their bodies. It was impossible to tell how this was even possible. And these beings came to be feared.
The Vessel's twin soul is called a Totem. A Totem is a spirit of divine, demonic or natural origin. How some are born with this extra soul is unknown and nearly impossible to study.
Vessels who lose themselves to their Totems and become monsters are called Ravagers. Some just can't handle the forces struggling within themselves. And once turned, they become a deadly threat to everyone. They generally reside in the wastelands, but try to enter the city to hunt.
It is the year 2060. To protect themselves, the weathy turned the inner city into a grand fortress. Locking themselves behind nearly inpenetrable walls and living their lives in peace and safety. Leaving everyone else stranded in the lawless ghettos to fend for themselves.
This is your world now. Is there hope? I can't say. Only you can choose. Will you be an angel or a devil?
